NATIONAL RETAIL GROUP REDEFINES FLOORING APPRENTICESHIPS, WITH THEIR FIRST INTAKE READY TO GO!
Flooring installation may not be the first trade that comes to mind when your teenager says they want to become a tradie, however as one of the most highly demanded occupations on the National Skills Needs List and a salary much higher than traditional trades, parent company of Choices Flooring and WoolSet retail stores, Newfurn, is determined to re-position Flooring Installation within teens minds.
Australia’s steady demand growth means consumers currently have to wait up to two-months after purchasing their flooring to have it installed, and with commencements of trade apprenticeships as a whole declining over 17% last year, it was clear action had to be taken to turn these trends around. Stepping up to the plate, Newfurn took the lead and last August established the Newfurn Training Academy.
The Newfurn Training Academy offers Australia’s leading Apprenticeship Program for new Flooring Installers, Trade Card accreditation for experienced Flooring Installers and Master Class professional development opportunities for Flooring Installers, Workplace Trainers, Sales Consultants and Store Owners.
After months of planning and extensive input from the major suppliers within the flooring industry, a new learning revolution is now ready to launch, with over thirty Flooring Apprentices from all around Australia converging at the Aitken Hill Conference Centre in Melbourne this week, for a five day Residential Workshop hosted by the Newfurn Training Academy.
